A fun, organized, and local flag football experience for boys and girls in grades K–5, open exclusively to families within the Syosset Central School District and played right here on Syosset school fields with a consistent, family-friendly schedule.
Our goal is simple: create the best possible flag football experience for young athletes by keeping games local, schedules predictable, teams balanced, and the focus on fun, fundamentals, and sportsmanship.
This is not a travel league and not a town-wide free-for-all. It is a true community league where kids play with and against classmates, meet new friends across the district, and parents become part of a shared experience.
We are intentional about everything we do because details matter when kids are learning and families are committing their time.
• Open only to Syosset Central School District families
• All games played locally on Syosset school fields
• Consistent weekly time windows so kids do not miss other activities
• Age-appropriate rules that help younger players learn to throw, catch, and play confidently
• Balanced teams created by the league, not pre-formed rosters
• Multiple trained referee crews focused on safety and enjoyment
• Strong emphasis on sportsmanship and positive coaching
We do not allow complete pre-formed teams.
Before each season, we work closely with parent coaches and division heads to thoughtfully divide players by grade and ability. This creates competitive balance while still allowing kids to play with friends they know and meet new classmates they may not see every day.
This approach leads to:
• More competitive games
• Better development for all skill levels
• A healthier team culture
• Stronger connections across the community
Parents benefit as well by meeting other families in the district and building relationships beyond their child’s elementary school.
We are intentionally starting with elementary school divisions to build the right culture from the ground up.
Boys and Girls Divisions:
• Kindergarten & 1st Grade
• 2nd & 3rd Grade
• 4th & 5th Grade
Focusing on these age groups allows us to teach fundamentals properly, support positive coaching habits, and create an environment kids look forward to being part of year after year.
Games are played on Saturdays on Syosset school fields.
Each division plays within a consistent time window every week. While the full season schedule may not be published far in advance, families can expect predictable weekly play that accounts for known conflicts.
Many players may also participate in other leagues. This league is designed to complement those commitments, not compete with them.
This league is built around community.
No child is ever excluded due to financial hardship. Scholarship assistance is available and handled privately and respectfully.
Sponsorships help support league operations and also allow us to give back locally. As the league grows, we will continue directing support toward causes and initiatives that matter to Syosset families.
Community comes first, always.
We are actively building our leadership team and welcome parents interested in:
• Coaching
• Serving as Division Heads
• Participating on the league Advisory Board
If you want to be involved beyond the sidelines, we would love to hear from you.
Registration for the Spring season will open shortly. We encourage families to sign up early and be part of the inaugural season.
